What NDIS transport involves

Transport support gets you where you need to go: medical appointments, shopping, day programs, work, TAFE and community outings. Trips can be one-way, return or recurring, and support before, during and after the trip is available when you need it.

Our wheelchair-accessible vehicles have ramp access, room to stay seated in your own chair if you prefer, and space for up to four passengers plus the driver — so a family member or support worker can travel with you. How transport is funded depends on your plan, which the NDIA decides.

What's included

  • Ramp-access, wheelchair-accessible vehicles
  • Up to 4 passengers plus the driver
  • One-way, return or recurring trips
  • Support worker assistance before, during and after
  • Appointments, shopping, programs and outings

NDIS transport around Fairfield

Fairfield is a Western Sydney suburb about 30 km west of the Sydney CBD and the administrative centre of Fairfield City Council. It has a mix of commercial and residential development, with the town centre around Fairfield station and neighbouring suburbs including Smithfield, Canley Vale, Carramar and Fairfield Heights.

Common trips from Fairfield include Fairfield Hospital (Prairiewood) for appointments, Neeta City for shopping, the Liverpool NDIA office at Ground floor, 211–231 Northumberland Street, Liverpool NSW 2170 and Fairfield Leisure Centre (Fairfield Park Precinct). Tell us the pickup and drop-off, day and time, and whether anyone is travelling with you.

For some trips, getting to Fairfield station (T2 Leppington & Inner West Line; T5 Cumberland Line) is all that's needed — a ride to the station and a support worker for the platform can be a step towards travelling more independently.

Accessible transport is Sydney-wide, with our home base in Western Sydney.

Questions

NDIS transport in Fairfield: common questions

Can you take me from Fairfield to Fairfield Hospital?

Yes. Medical appointments are among the most common trips we do. Book one-way, return or recurring trips, and let us know about mobility aids and anyone travelling with you.

Do you provide NDIS transport in Fairfield?

Yes. We support people in Fairfield 2165 and nearby suburbs such as Cabramatta, Smithfield and Villawood. Which worker can help, and when, depends on the days and times you need, so tell us your suburb and routine when you enquire and we'll confirm what we can arrange.

Can I stay in my wheelchair during the trip?

Yes, if you prefer. The vehicles have ramp access and space for small to large wheelchairs.

How is transport funded?

It depends on your plan. Some plans include transport funding in Core Supports, and transport that's part of another support can sometimes be claimed with it.
