About transport
Getting where you need to go shouldn't depend on someone else's free afternoon. Transport support gets you to medical appointments, the shops, work, study and social activities.
We offer door-to-door pickup, and wheelchair-accessible options for participants who need them.
Who it's for
- Participants who can't use public transport without support
- People who use a wheelchair and need accessible transport
- Participants who need regular rides to appointments, work or activities
How we can help
Wheelchair-accessible options
Accessible vehicles for participants who use a wheelchair. Tell us your mobility needs when you enquire.
Appointments and errands
Rides to medical appointments, therapy, shopping and the everyday errands of life.
Door-to-door pickup
Pickup from your door and drop-off at your destination.
How funding usually works
Usually funded under: Core Supports — Transport
How transport is funded depends on your plan. Some plans include a transport amount in Core Supports. Transport that's part of another support — such as getting to a community activity with a support worker — can sometimes be claimed with that support.
We can look at your plan with you and explain what it allows before you book.
General NDIS information. Your own plan decides what is funded — check it, or ask your plan manager, support coordinator or the NDIA (1800 800 110).
What happens when you enquire
- 1
Tell us what you need
Send an enquiry through this website or call 02 8722 0799. A few details about the support you're looking for and your suburb is enough to start.
- 2
Talk it through with our team
A member of the WSS team contacts you the way you prefer. We'll talk about your goals, your plan and where you live — there's no obligation.
- 3
Agree on your supports
Before anything starts, you agree on the supports, schedule and costs. NDIS participants usually do this through a service agreement.
- 4
Support begins
Your supports start, and we adjust them with you as your needs, routines or plan change.
Common questions
Do you have wheelchair-accessible vehicles?
Yes, we offer wheelchair-accessible options. Let us know your mobility needs when you get in touch so we can plan the right vehicle.
Can transport be combined with community participation support?
Often, yes. If a support worker is taking you to an activity, transport may be part of that support. Ask us how it works with your plan.
How is NDIS transport paid for?
It depends on your plan — it may come from a transport amount in Core Supports, or be claimed alongside another support. We'll explain the options for your plan.
What should I tell you when I ask about transport?
Where you'll be picked up and going, the day and time, how often you need the ride, any mobility aids you use, and whether a carer or support worker will travel with you. That lets us plan the right vehicle and support.
