What daily living support involves

Daily living support is everyday help on your terms: personal care and hygiene, meal preparation, household routines, community access, medication reminders and transport to appointments. Where possible you'll see the same worker, so routines stay familiar.

It is usually funded as Assistance with Daily Life in Core Supports. How much support your plan covers is decided by the NDIA.

Daily living support around Fairfield

Fairfield is a Western Sydney suburb about 30 km west of the Sydney CBD and the administrative centre of Fairfield City Council. It has a mix of commercial and residential development, with the town centre around Fairfield station and neighbouring suburbs including Smithfield, Canley Vale, Carramar and Fairfield Heights.

Daily living support in Fairfield fits around the places your week already includes — the weekly shop at Neeta City, appointments at Fairfield Hospital (Prairiewood), or time at Fairfield Leisure Centre (Fairfield Park Precinct).

Fairfield is served by Fairfield station (T2 Leppington & Inner West Line; T5 Cumberland Line), so appointments further afield can be planned with a support worker travelling alongside you, or with our transport service.

Household routines are set up around your home in Fairfield and the people you live with, and adjusted as your needs or plan change.

Questions

Daily living support in Fairfield: common questions

Do you provide daily living support in Fairfield?

Yes. We support people in Fairfield 2165 and nearby suburbs such as Cabramatta, Smithfield and Villawood. Which worker can help, and when, depends on the days and times you need, so tell us your suburb and routine when you enquire and we'll confirm what we can arrange.

Can daily living support include shopping at Neeta City?

Yes. Shopping is a common part of daily living support — writing a list, getting there, choosing and paying. If you shop at Neeta City, a support worker can come with you or, where your plan allows, help with it for you.

Will I see the same support worker?

Wherever possible, yes. A familiar worker who knows your routine makes daily support easier.

Is daily living support the same as personal care?

Personal care is one part of it. Daily living support also covers meals, household routines, medication reminders and getting out to appointments.
