About lawn and garden care

An overgrown yard is more than an eyesore. Long grass, overhanging branches and weeds across paths become trip hazards, and a garden you can't move around safely is a garden you stop using.

Our lawn and garden service keeps outdoor spaces safe and manageable: regular mowing and edging, hedge and shrub trimming, small-tree pruning, weed control, mulching and seasonal clean-ups. Everything we cut or pull is cleared away — no pile left behind.

Visits can be one-off, for a yard that has got away from you, or scheduled so it never gets to that point again. If you're not sure whether your plan covers it, ask us to look at it with you.

Who it's for

  • Participants who can't safely maintain their yard
  • People whose overgrown garden has become a hazard
  • Older participants and families wanting a safer outdoor space
What's included

How we can help

Lawn mowing and edging

Regular mowing with clean edges — the everyday reset for the whole yard.

Hedges and shrubs

Trimming hedges and shaping or thinning shrubs so they stay healthy and out of the way.

Small-tree pruning

Branch cutting and shaping for smaller trees, keeping paths and windows clear.

Weed control and mulching

Clearing weeds from lawns, beds and paths, and fresh mulch to slow regrowth.

Green-waste removal

Everything cut, trimmed or pulled is taken away.

Seasonal clean-ups

A thorough reset for a yard that's become unmanageable, then regular visits to keep it that way.

Funding

How funding usually works

Usually funded under: Core Supports — Assistance with Daily Life (household tasks)

For NDIS participants, garden maintenance may be funded under household tasks in Core Supports when you can't reasonably do it yourself because of your disability. The NDIA decides what your plan funds, and it generally isn't for landscaping or improvements.

We can look at your plan with you before booking, and explain which visits it could cover.

General NDIS information. Your own plan decides what is funded — check it, or ask your plan manager, support coordinator or the NDIA (1800 800 110).

Getting started

What happens when you enquire

  1. 1

    Tell us what you need

Send an enquiry through this website or call 02 8722 0799. A few details about the support you're looking for and your suburb is enough to start.

  2. 2

Talk it through with our team

A member of the WSS team contacts you the way you prefer. We'll talk about your goals, your plan and where you live — there's no obligation.

  3. 3

    Agree on your supports

Before anything starts, you agree on the supports, schedule and costs. NDIS participants usually do this through a service agreement.

  4. 4

    Support begins

Your supports start, and we adjust them with you as your needs, routines or plan change.

Questions

Common questions

Is lawn mowing covered by the NDIS?

It can be. Yard maintenance may be funded under household tasks in Core Supports if your disability means you can't reasonably do it yourself. Check your plan, or ask us to look at it with you.

Do you take the green waste away?

Yes. Clippings, branches and weeds are cleared away as part of the visit.

Can I book regular visits?

Yes. Most people choose regular visits so the yard stays manageable; one-off clean-ups are also available.

Do you do landscaping or new gardens?

Our service is maintenance — mowing, trimming, weeding, mulching and clean-ups — rather than landscaping or construction.
