What daily living support involves

Daily living support is everyday help on your terms: personal care and hygiene, meal preparation, household routines, community access, medication reminders and transport to appointments. Where possible you'll see the same worker, so routines stay familiar.

It is usually funded as Assistance with Daily Life in Core Supports. How much support your plan covers is decided by the NDIA.

Daily living support around Westmead

Westmead is a suburb about 26 km west of the Sydney CBD, split between the City of Parramatta and Cumberland City Council. Health services are the main employer, and the suburb is bounded by the Parramatta River and Toongabbie Creek to the north, Parramatta Park to the east and the Great Western Highway to the south.

Daily living support in Westmead fits around the places your week already includes — appointments at Westmead Hospital (Westmead), or time at Western Sydney University Westmead campus.

Westmead is served by Westmead station (T1 North Shore & Western Line; T5 Cumberland Line); Westmead, Westmead Hospital and Childrens Hospital light rail stops (L4 Westmead & Carlingford Line light rail), so appointments further afield can be planned with a support worker travelling alongside you, or with our transport service.

Household routines are set up around your home in Westmead and the people you live with, and adjusted as your needs or plan change.

Daily living support in Westmead: common questions

Do you provide daily living support in Westmead?

Yes. We support people in Westmead 2145 and nearby suburbs such as Parramatta, Harris Park and North Parramatta. Which worker can help, and when, depends on the days and times you need, so tell us your suburb and routine when you enquire and we'll confirm what we can arrange.

Will I see the same support worker?

Wherever possible, yes. A familiar worker who knows your routine makes daily support easier.

Is daily living support the same as personal care?

Personal care is one part of it. Daily living support also covers meals, household routines, medication reminders and getting out to appointments.
