What NDIS transport involves

Transport support gets you where you need to go: medical appointments, shopping, day programs, work, TAFE and community outings. Trips can be one-way, return or recurring, and support before, during and after the trip is available when you need it.

Our wheelchair-accessible vehicles have ramp access, room to stay seated in your own chair if you prefer, and space for up to four passengers plus the driver — so a family member or support worker can travel with you. How transport is funded depends on your plan, which the NDIA decides.

What's included

  • Ramp-access, wheelchair-accessible vehicles
  • Up to 4 passengers plus the driver
  • One-way, return or recurring trips
  • Support worker assistance before, during and after

NDIS transport around Bankstown

Bankstown is a suburb about 19 km south-west of the Sydney CBD and serves as the administrative centre of the City of Canterbury-Bankstown. Its central business district is clustered around Bankstown station, with neighbouring suburbs including Yagoona, Punchbowl, Padstow and Condell Park.

Common trips from Bankstown include Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital (Eldridge Road, Bankstown) for appointments, Bankstown Central for shopping, the Bankstown NDIA office at Ground Floor, 2–14 Meredith Street, Bankstown NSW 2200 and Western Sydney University Bankstown City campus. Tell us the pickup and drop-off, day and time, and whether anyone is travelling with you.

For some trips, getting to Bankstown station (M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line; T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line) is all that's needed — a ride to the station and a support worker for the platform can be a step towards travelling more independently.

Accessible transport is Sydney-wide, with our home base in Western Sydney.

Yes. Medical appointments are among the most common trips we do. Book one-way, return or recurring trips, and let us know about mobility aids and anyone travelling with you.

Do you provide NDIS transport in Bankstown?

Yes. We support people in Bankstown 2200 and nearby suburbs such as Milperra and Villawood. Which worker can help, and when, depends on the days and times you need, so tell us your suburb and routine when you enquire and we'll confirm what we can arrange.

Yes, if you prefer. The vehicles have ramp access and space for small to large wheelchairs.

How is transport funded?

It depends on your plan. Some plans include transport funding in Core Supports, and transport that's part of another support can sometimes be claimed with it.
