Daily living support is everyday help on your terms: personal care and hygiene, meal preparation, household routines, community access, medication reminders and transport to appointments. Where possible you'll see the same worker, so routines stay familiar.

It is usually funded as Assistance with Daily Life in Core Supports. How much support your plan covers is decided by the NDIA.

Daily living support around Bankstown

Bankstown is a suburb about 19 km south-west of the Sydney CBD and serves as the administrative centre of the City of Canterbury-Bankstown. Its central business district is clustered around Bankstown station, with neighbouring suburbs including Yagoona, Punchbowl, Padstow and Condell Park.

Daily living support in Bankstown fits around the places your week already includes — the weekly shop at Bankstown Central, appointments at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital (Eldridge Road, Bankstown), or time at Western Sydney University Bankstown City campus.

Bankstown is served by Bankstown station (M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line; T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line), so appointments further afield can be planned with a support worker travelling alongside you, or with our transport service.

Household routines are set up around your home in Bankstown and the people you live with, and adjusted as your needs or plan change.

Questions

Daily living support in Bankstown: common questions

Do you provide daily living support in Bankstown?

Yes. We support people in Bankstown 2200 and nearby suburbs such as Milperra and Villawood. Which worker can help, and when, depends on the days and times you need, so tell us your suburb and routine when you enquire and we'll confirm what we can arrange.

Can daily living support include shopping at Bankstown Central?

Yes. Shopping is a common part of daily living support — writing a list, getting there, choosing and paying. If you shop at Bankstown Central, a support worker can come with you or, where your plan allows, help with it for you.

Will I see the same support worker?

Wherever possible, yes. A familiar worker who knows your routine makes daily support easier.

Is daily living support the same as personal care?

Personal care is one part of it. Daily living support also covers meals, household routines, medication reminders and getting out to appointments.
